Wall Thickness Change

From time to time you may be required to change wall thicknesses, at a corner or on a straight wall. This can be accomplished by using combination size ties or forms. The following graphics demonstrate different ways to achieve these changes.

2” – Straight Wall

Wall Thickness with Tie Wall Thickness with Tie Wall Thickness 6”-8” Wall Thickness 6”-8”
Wall Tie Wall Tie

This wall thickness change is achieved by using a 6”-8” tie. For thicker walls, use the appropriate tie needed (i.e. 8”-10”, 10”-12”).

This wall thickness change is achieved by using a 4”x4” wall thickness change form.

Corner Wall Thickness 2” Corner Wall Thickness 2”

Face sheet holes allows inside corners to be pinned to wall panels and reduce wall thickness by 2”.

4" - Straight Wall

This wall thickness change is achieved by using a 6”-10” tie. For thicker walls, use the appropriate tie needed (i.e. 8”-12”, 10”-14”). Flathead pin required for this application.

90 Degree Angle Clip 90 Degree Angle Clip

Versatile 90° angle clip can be a substitute for full length outside corner angle to create an outside corner using fillers.

Wall Thickness 4” Straight Wall Thickness 4” Straight

This wall thickness change is achieved by using a 4”x4” inside corner and 90° clips to change the wall thickness by 4”.

6" - Straight Wall

Wall Thickness 6” Straight Wall Thickness 6” Straight

This wall thickness change is achieved by using a 4”x4” inside corner and 2”x2” outside “W”, to reduce wall thickness by 6”.

This application may also be accomplished using ties for the desired size. (For example this application would use a 6”-12” combination tie.)

2" - Corner

This illustration shows a 2” “W” being used with different size fillers to reduce wall thickness at the corner by 2”. You could achieve a 4” wall thickness change, by changing the 10” filler to a 8” filler.

This graphic shows a 4”x6” inside corner to achieve a 2” wall thickness at the corner.
